Sorting

We have spent a lot of time sorting and will spend even more time before the move and settle is done. Today we made another run of donations, dropping off things that we think people can use. After my mom died, we got rid of nothing, my dad could not bear to part with anything, so we are doing it all at once, as we promised him we would. It is a huge job and it has been six months since my father passed, and we are making real progress, but there is still a lot to do.

However, it makes me thing of a dragon I know with the ability, given by the planet to sort. Sari is an amazing dragon, pale grey in color; but creative, artistic, and sensitive and responsive to the needs of others. Her talent is she can sort; colors, plants, seeds, grains, nutrients, and virtually anything. She kept a newborn infant alive sorting the nutrients she needed from her own body and chewing it into food the baby could swallow. The planet gave her an amazing ability.

One of the key themes in my books is that no matter what others think, no talent is wasted, no skill is useless, and everyone can contribute to a better tomorrow. So lift up your chin, be proud of who you are and what you can do and make this world a better place. And while you are about that, stop and review one of my stories as you read your way to a happy place. 😄
