Youngsters
When Trissy points her human finger at Grabon and demands a rule preventing any youngster from being expelled from the nest at fifteen, is she influenced by Heron’s understanding and feelings about what happens to maturing dragons? Why does Heron act as if he does not want to be involved in the discussion? Great questions from a reader that I thought a I would share. Now to answer… Trissy is influenced as much by Heron’s thoughts and feelings as she is by her own. She also is anticipating that her youngsters, Jenny and Mattie included, will be tempted to go awandering with a dragon either as a companion or simply as a friend. She is opposed to either of the youngsters (human or dragon) being forced out of their territory before they are ready.
