Waiting- How much?

In my books I give a certain amount of attention to the fact that dragons are taught to wait, they wait at the edge of a nest to be acknowledged, they wait for a number of things when visiting a new territory and they become good at it. Some of the humans are not as adept and if you have ever had to wait in line in a group, there are some humans who wait better than others. Like anything else it is a skill that needs to be learned and practiced. In our own lives, how much waiting do we do?
