Themes
There are a great many themes running through my books. Most of them are obvious:
People are people, Love is commitment, You have to find and build the place where you belong, and many more.
Other themes are less obvious: Survival is only the first step, Everyone makes mistakes, Not everything is pardonable, in addition to the Hazards of twisted thinking.
In the world I created, the humans are brown, mixed race, and speak Universal, the single international language of OldEarth. The dragons on the other hand have a wide range of colors and markings. So racism is dealt with from an observational view point.
The government is feudal, with each territory dragon being a King under the council. The council answers only to the planet. That allows for fast judgement, swift decision making, and types of corruption that can be staggering. Yes, as the story continues to build more politics are explained and clarified in both the human settlements and among the dragon territories and council.
If you haven’t dipped into the stories yet, there are many surprises. For those who are keeping pace with my writing, book 7 offers a very different view of the council and some other territory dragons and their clans.
Happy Reading!
