The Rules

On NewEarth, there is a set of rules known to all the dragons of the continent. Those rules come first from the planet and then are added to from the council of twelve of the oldest and wisest dragons.

How are the council dragons chosen? They are not elected, they are invited to fill a seat by the other members; recognized for their skills, talents, and strength. A member withdraws when he or she feels the time has come, opening a new position for the next dragon.

Grabon is newly mature, but the dragons on the council already know that he is destined for the council once he has more time to mature and grow into his full potential. He is that smart, that powerful, and that unique.

It should not have surprised anyone that Heron, Grabon’s human companion, would be invited by the council to represent humans as the first of his kind to do so. After all he is uniquely skilled and talented and is fully mature. This allows Humans to be represented in the power structures of the planet for the first time since their arrival.

Things are bound to change….. but what about the colonies?
