Sweet Tea

I drink a lot of tea, both hot and cold, flavored and plain, but I always use some form of sweetener. Unfortunately something in young leaves, green tea, makes me sick. The same can happen if I overbrew a cup of tea. That being case, I am somewhat picky about the type of tea I drink and it’s preperation. To make things more complicated, I add things to tea.

Sometimes I add fruit; including apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and mango. Sometimes I add spices like cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg, rum, and bourbon.

Some flavors go well with sugar and cream, some with sugar alone. Never add cream to an acidic tea, the curdles will make you throw it out.

I did that with a tea with fresh pineapple; who knows what I was thinking adding a coconut cream liquor to pineapple tea. It made a mess out of my cup.
