Mia the Storyteller, Pit’s Mate

Among the dragons, having a storyteller in the clan is important. They teach and supervise the wandering youths and can be called on to influence the ideas of the clan, using the stories to spread ideas. As the series builds, readers get to hear more and more of Mia’s stories told in the market. A pairing between a territory dragon and a storyteller is not unusual. Mia feeling cheated when she finally meets Pit and realizes that while he has the power and tendrils to be a territory dragon, it is not his ambition to run an entire territory is a bit odd. Instead of trying to convince him he was wrong, she sent him away… and he left. That was probably not the reaction she expected. When she talks about it in Healing, NewEarth4, she sounds upset that they both lost so much time.
