Storms and Damage

We had a couple of impressive storms. I know my brother, some 900 miles away experienced some of his own. Trees have been uprooted, split in half, knocked over and tossed onto power lines. In general the storms made a mess of things and the sound of chainsaws took over as soon as the thunder abated.

Storms are interesting things. They can feel like an assault, or they can isolate and protect. Nothing is better than sitting safe and dry and in good company as a wall of water pummels the windows and wind whips around the outside of your house.

How have you managed with the storms and fires of this season? Fire scares me, especially when it is running free leaving it’s deadly clouds of smoke to obscure the damage it can cause. It’s a good thing we have experts predicting where they will go next and what speeds they are traveling. Of course like weather predictions they are not always accurate.

I am looking forward to the cooling autumn temps and the chance to light the bonfire and roast food outside. Lately it has been too hot and my hours too long. Hopefully you have something waiting in the coming season, something that makes you smile.

Stay healthy and make some time to read a story.
