Spring is in the Air
The start of spring has always held hope. Hope that the floods won’t be so bad. Hope that the babies born will live. Hope that sunny days will outnumber the cloudy rainy ones. But most of all… hope that winter will finally be over and life will once again sprout from the ground with new foods, and bring back the birds and plants that we need for the future.
To that end, my dad, who so recently lost my mother, his wife of 57 years, has been planning for spring, and today he brought home 8 baby chicks. They are currently gaining their first markings on their chick down and are residing in my dad’s library in their little incubator.
So ready or not, winter is over. We are embracing spring filled with new hope and opportunity. Sure a virus has taken over the world, yes death and tragedy happen, but so does every good thing. We live each day, embrace each opportunity, and celebrate as often as possible because tomorrow… we’ll who knows what tomorrow will be.
