Scammers and Fakers
All the technin this world and I often feel like I am 100 steps behind the average person, but I slog through, ask questions, Google and research. Today my brother texted me, he got an email with my name saying I was in trouble offering pics. He is a smart man and checked the address, nope, not from me. He did not open the email.
I have failed more fake phishing alerts, I have been trained to look first, open second; but when I see it… I pop it open. It has to be 4 times dubious for me to spot it right off. When it comes to cyber self protection, I am a dunce. It is a good thing I am surrounded by smart people who look out for me. The whole malicious actor’s scenario, I wonder what I have that they want. Instead I should treat my computer like my wallet. I have been known to break someone’s arm for trying to steal my wallet. I know what to do with a mugger, a wild animal, even a rage runner; but a tech thief, that one is beyond me.
I think I’d rather read a book, a good one, or a great one and find my happy place.
