I absolutely LOVE Hanna and Grabon! (You’ll have to read the book to know who Grabon is, but trust me, you are going to love Grabon and the story!). I love a story that makes me feel, and this story does that and more.
The world of the New Earth series is one that graciously embodies a smattering of science fiction, a dash of romantic spice, a cups worth of fantasy and a pound of real connections between characters.
I was able to copy this from Amazon. Thanks AEM! “This fantasy/romance book has a unique world to explore. I was fascinated and wanted to know more! It was a sweet read, with an interesting balance of new and old. Thanks for the ride, Julia!”
As a writer there is no greater compliment than having a reader leave a review. The first review for Heron’s Bonds was left on Amazon and of course we have six reviews for Gordon’s Pride on Amazon. If you enjoy the story and want to compliment the author, leave a review, I guarantee you they read them and savor every word. To those who have left reviews both on the website and on Amazon, thank you so much. It not only helps other readers decide if they want to read the book, it encourages the writer as well.
Julia, Oh my Earth! I am so in love with your characters and your book. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out! I tried to leave a review on amazon, it’s not showing, but may need to be verified before it can post. Can we preorder the next book? Love love love!!! (I was going to call, but everyone is still sleeping in our little vacation rental and I am sure I couldn’t contain the excitement in my voice. a;lsdkjf;aldkjf;adjf;asdkjf That’s my rambling excited voice, hope you can hear it through the text. LOVE LOVE LOVE your story!!!!) Blessings my friend, and Write On 🙂 Love, Shirley
She likes it! A friend of mine gave the book as a gift a couple of weeks ago to someone I don’t know, but yesterday she got a text, that she liked it! Yep, I am thrilled. I love hearing It!
I thought the book was interesting, different from the typical girl story and told from both the male and female point of view. It did leave me interested in knowing what happens next in the territory and I understand the next book is coming out in January, can’t wait.
There has been a number of readers responding on Facebook who enjoyed the story. Check out Julia Schmeelk Author to see what they say.

A Note from Julia
While I have lived on an island, no book is written completely in isolation. There are always those who help make the transition from a story in my head to a book you can hold in your hand, so let me take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks. For Shawn, my heartmate, friend and own personal dragon at the gate, thank you for being my hero, helper and amazing support staff. My parents have always been terrific cheerleaders and my brothers and their families are right there with them. My editor JoSalle Vanderhooft who worked through hurricane Irma to give me excellent feedback on the technical side of writing, I tip my hat and offer many thanks. Bryon Craig who did an amazing job translating the world of geekdom into something I could navigate, let me say that you have my gratitude, respect and I really wish I had just a bit of that magic dust you seem to have a corner on. With a pinch of that my computer could speak English and we could communicate so much better. My beta readers… yes those lovely people, the very best really, who wade through my stories in various stage of draft and make suggestions and point out loop holes. You are all the best of the best and any mistakes that remain are mine and mine alone.
