Rain

Yesterday the neighbor’s donkey escaped the field and helped us out by eating our grass. We really need to get the grass mowed. I had even had a discussion with someone about it earlier, then we looked out and there was Rolex, trying to eat his way to a solution.

It had been raining on and off for a few hours when he decided to do his magic trick with the gate. When I went out to lure him back into the field with some corn, he decided I should play with him first. That would have been fine but the moment I stepped off the porch the misty drizzle started to pick up pace and water was spitting from the sky.

The longer he stalled, the wetter I got. We were out in the wet grass dancing around each other when the sky opened up and poured buckets of water all over us. Rolex was under the tree, I was not and it no longer mattered how long I was outside. Soaked to the skin is as wet as you can get and I was there, swimming in my clothes wet.

At that point he pretty much laughed at me and we continued playing. Once he was on the right side of the fence and everything was put away, I stripped off my sodden garments, dried off and got warm. Air conditioning is not helpful when you are soaked to the skin.
