Progress!
It may be a long time before everything has a place and it resides there, but I can find the kitchen counters and walk through. Even the table is functional. We converted a coat closet into a pantry, adding storage for our food. I still own forty seven specialty baking dishes and at least that many serving pieces. I love each and every one, don’t get me wrong, but no kitchen is designed to hold all of that. Especially because none of it nests well. With that in mind, I am going to have a kitchen bin in the storage basement section, specifically for holiday baking molds and pans, dishes, and servers.
Today I am setting up the China cabinet and building the living room. It should be interesting with minimal seating furniture, but we are on our way to being able to sit and watch TV. It may be on a folding chair, but a view without a box in the way will be good!
After that, and a trip to the store to pick up a few necessary items, like a metal threshold and nails to hold the rug in place. It keeps trying to trip us as we enter or leave the bathroom. I have a plan to use my mother’s carpet cleaner on the back end of our truck to suck up the chicken soup I sloshed last night. Tip to those of you who do this, crockpots filled with soup need to be in the carry container. I may be picking out celery and carrots from the carpet for weeks. It was pouring last night or I might have done more to contain the mess.
