Planting

There is something so satisfying about starting a garden from seed. I nurture these little plants inside during the winter and now, this week, I am putting them out in the garden. Of course there are plants that I sew directly in the garden, but not the majority, most of them I started inside. It is backbreaking, sweaty work, moving them all into place. I agonize over the arrangement, but in the end, it doesn’t matter. While gardening and planting, I am editing book 5 and I think readers are going to love it.

It is a lot like my cucumber plants that already have flowers before they are afixed in the garden. Writing a series gives the reader a headstart. They already know the characters, the setting and some of the problems. It gives me, as the writer, more time and space to focus on plot.
