Mattie and Jenny

When Heron first meets Jenny, she is four cycles and Mattie is six. They quickly grow and age as they move from book to book. Jenny of course is Trissy’s half sister. Mattie is adopted from a Farmer, she is the result of a that Farmer’s infidelity and his wife could not raise her without being reminded of the break in their vows.

The girls are raised as sisters and they are treated very much the same, acknowledged as Trissy and Heron’s children. Then Trissy becomes pregnant and has Tonseth, who is their biological offspring. He adds to their nest, but does not change the girls position in the household. As readers watch the girls mature and become youths and eventually full members of the clan, what talents and skills do you think they will develop?
