Jobs

I am extraordinarily lucky to have the time to look around at the possibilities, but I want to tell you about a very interesting opportunity that I ran into.

I was looking for job possibilities on line, using my tablet, as I often do. I came across a teach from home advertisement and I followed the thread. The next thing I knew I had forwarded my resume, but had yet to vet the school or system. As I moved to do that, I was notified that I needed to sign up for an interview, I was past the first stage.

Now I may have a lot of experience in classrooms, but nothing would lead anyone to believe that cyberschooling is my niche in life. So I set the appointment and continued to check things out. Here is what I think I found, and I qualify because it is not all in English.

Cyber schools with American instructors for English, to be used in other countries. They have teachers prepare cyber lessons for demos for the interview. My tech is not good enough to play with theirs and I won’t take off security to speed things up, so I canceled the demo and second stage appointment. Their demo programs don’t work on phones or tablets, it has to be laptops or desktops. My laptop is heavily secured which makes it outrageously slow. My desktop is never online. It is reserved for writing and I am never bothered with viruses, pop ups or anything dinging or making a fuss.

Anyway it was a possibility that didn’t pan out, but it was pretty cool. If I wanted to do something like that I would need to beef up my tech game and equipment.
