Imagination
I admire other authors who have well developed imaginations. My own ecxerience with creative thinking is that it is a muscle and like all muscles, the more you work it the stronger it gets. It is true of logical thinking, objective reasoning, and imaginative thinking and creativity. I try to set aside time for it every day.
Sometimes my imagination is grounded in this world, people I know, and circumstances I have experienced. Other times I am flying with a bird, chasing a bee or dragonfly, and saving someone or getting them into trouble. I dream up villains and heroes, neighbors and shop keepers. My imagination writes its own rules.
When you set your mind to roam, where does it go? What do you see?
