Hope

All through my stories of NewEarth, there is a hopeful and positive push for things to be better. Mistakes can be corrected, bad people can be eliminated even if it means losing patience and blasting them with enough energy to set them aflame and turning their miserable carcasses to ash. Once that gruesome chore is done, things can get better.

Healing is not achieved painlessly, nor is it done without cost to both patient and healer, but in most cases it is possible. The exceptions are glaring, when a disease or condition are beyond the scope and knowledge of a healer. When that happens, comfort and ease can at least be offered to the afflicted as well as those affected.

Emotional and physical pain are recognized and can be treated and repairs can be made. Hope for a better tomorrow shines brightly in every story. However, there is also a recognition of darkness, that some people choose hate, cruelty, and unkindness because they can; it amuses them. Some evil is caused by thoughtlessness, some for gain, some for entertainment and some from a twisted sense of justice.

The NewEarth stories are infused with optimism, but based on real possibilities. Dragons can accept humans as equal, the two species can find common ground and work and play together. Humans are capable of looking past their small noses and seeing the truth; technology and different ideas does not make them more intelligent, just different.
