Helping Out

I have been working somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15 hours each day on one manuscript or another, except when something comes up. I took some time to play on lake Michigan, I take a break and cook a meal for my husband. I take a break and cook for my dad. Today I went with my dad to the grocery store. He also got a vaccine he needed, so it was a good trip, well worth the time.

The thing that gets me is every day there are at least 3 good reasons to walk away from the computer. I am pretty disciplined when I have time to write, I write, when I don’t have time, I really don’t. But this 6 week break that I borrowed and begged to squeeze out of my life has been fantastic. Now as we get towards the end, the distractions are crowding in. I guess it’s inevitable, but I am racing to get things done before it all crashes down.

Maybe next time I should be a little less ambitious about what I want to accomplish… yeah, that’s not going to happen.
