Hanna and Grabon
Hanna is fascinated by Grabon when they first meet and she wants to craft his likeness in gold. Grabon was unsure until he saw two examples of her skill, a bentar and a spring bride. As the dragon examines the quality of her work and Heron translates for them, a special understanding begins to form.
The budding relationship between Hanna and Grabon demonstrates the possibilities between a strong territory dragon and a fragile human who has been abused. The more Grabon comes to understand Hanna, the more protective of her he becomes. He is able to acknowledge her weakness while at the same time admiring her skills and her place.
It takes Heron a bit longer, but he also comes to admire Hanna’s skills and talents as well as understand her vulnerability. Heron has had a difficult past of his own and relates to her through his own lens of circumstances. Add to that his connection to Grabon and his thoughts and feelings and the relationship expands even more.
Gordon has a different view of Hanna as their minds and emotions merge. In the end he simply brings her to the center of his heart and holds her close. Even then, she has bouts of insecurity, left over from being abandoned and left to die.
