Grabon as a Mate and Father

In the beginning it was easy to see Grabon drinking and throwing dice with his friends, sharing stories and experiences with Heron and even hiding his intelligence as he watched the funny humans. He of course came out of that role after meeting Hanna, claiming his territory and beginning to set up his clan, but he was still young, interested in romping with available females, drinking and swapping stories.

Now, after finding Pia, filling his nest with youth and youngsters, has his attitude changed? Is he the same young dragon that defied the other territory dragons and awandered with a human he called a pet to keep him by his side?

Having a mate and the responsiblility of a family has certainly slowed down his drinking and sexual exploits beyond his mate, but he seems content with what he has. Growing his clan, watching things change and develop has taken the place of drinking and telling lies.

You’ll have to tell me what you think of the latest developments as you finish reading book 6, because obviously even more things change. Things change not only for him, but for Heron.

It is important to remember that their goal is to avert a species conflict setting humans against dragons to the detriment of the planet. Grabon and Heron both believe that nobody wins that type of conflict. Instead both species either need to learn to exist side by side and separate, or side by side and integrated. But the issue of equality is very strongly implied. Humans have got to learn the rules of the planet.
