Good Friends

Like a lot of people, I have been blessed with a number of good close friends. One of the most amazing things is when a friend from one part of your life can cross those invisible lines and enter another part and integrate successfully.

I had a friend I taught with for a few years come and visit. I was thrilled to see her, but I wondered how she would see my life now. As it happened, she was wonderful and filled with adventure stories to share. If she thought anything at all, she never said. We have both grown and moved on, but it was a joy to spend time both reminiscing and looking ahead.

Some friendships are confined to a place or a subject, others are confined to a group or circumstances, a few relationships span long distances and can withstand disruptions and moves. It is rare indeed when a friendship can survive multiple assaults and complications, but it happens.

As I said I have been fortunate in my friendships.
