I am old. I freely admit I went through college, my under graduate degree, using an electric typewriter, or paying someone to type my papers after I wrote them by hand. I grew up without a dishwasher or microwave. So I lack some of the connectedness that some younger people have.

Technology whirls around me and I pick and choose what I’ll adopt and what I’ll pass on. Learning new things while living life can be frustrating and hard. It can also be worth it when it gets you a job, or makes your life so much easier.

The characters in my stories all face opportunities to change, to adopt new ways of thinking, or to stick with what they know. It is a difficult choice as we know in our ever changing world. In NewEarth where so much energy goes into survival, making a change must be more difficult.
