The Youngsters – Red and Star

Adoption is not a new concept and on NewEarth it happens as needed as we saw with Heron being adopted by the Farmers because of his friendship with Gordon. We saw it again with Matti when it was revealed that her birth was the source of conflict between her parents. It is not only a human concept as we know that any unclaimed youngsters go to the territory dragon, as we see in Healing, with a youth named Zack.

Typically among dragons, youth wander, youngsters are cared for in the nest, but Grabon knows that among humans youth and youngsters are kept in the nest and then humans are set free to wander and return frequently. When Grabon takes in Zack in book4, Grabon is honoring the customs of humans. How long is that going to last?
