Dragons And Sex

You may have noticed some of the differences between male and female dragons, in the width of shoulders and hips, the enlarged breasts for nursing and the slimmer neck. However the genitalia is recessed in dragons. It emerges during arrousal and much like humans, the male grows hard and erect and slides into the female.

Imagine the confusion when a dragon meets a naked human, wondering at their cause of arrousal. Look for that scene later when Zack meets Rogor.

The difference in physiology was easy to imagine, but my artist, Athena, had fun trying to represent it without showing anything. Showing arroused dragons- by their standards is an attempt to arrouse other dragons and feeds into their concept of art. You’ll read more about that later in the series.

The first romance between dragons is of course Grabon’s Nest, the second is Acceptance, the third will be The Hunter. Writing a romance where the main characters are not human presents some interesting challenges. Let me know if you think I managed it.
