Deception
In Grabon’s world, being deceptive is a skill, one greatly admired, but it is only used for specific purposes. Some dragons may choose to conceal a certain ability from others. As it harms no one and gives the advantage to the individual with the ability this is considered well done. Others attempt to hide their motives for wanting to join a clan, or visit a territory. That would be up to the territory dragon to unearth such a deception, but the individual attempting to hide such things is not at fault. It is their prerogative to test the skills of the territory dragon. When Lars enters Grabon’s territory, he goes practically unnoticed. Pia had arrived, Grabon was focused on his mate, his nest, his youngsters, and clan. Heron was looking out for the territory and realized that there was something interesting about Lars.
Since Lars was a council representative and was sent there to find information for the council, Heron was correct. The fact that Grabon and Heron had unveiled his deception made Lars uncomfortable, but not nearly as uncomfortable as when Grabon first offered him a chance to earn a place in the clan. He thought for a short time that they were using deception against him as retribution. Instead they admired his skill, as they assumed the council must admire those skills to represent and deceive.
