Deception

Deception is a funny thing. As humans we talk about deception as if it were immoral, yet actors are deceptive. We admire actors. A police officer without deceptive skills would end up dead, or put behind a desk. Cops are the good guys. A doctor who showed all his feelings and was not deceptive would scare us and would get drummed out of business. A lawyer without deceptive skills would be the first poor lawyer on earth.

All salesmen are deceptive, it is part of their job, yet what they do is not lying. Lying is a way to practice deception for personal gain. It uses the same skill set but for a different purpose. Some people lie to get out of trouble, others to cause trouble, but if it is helping someone, it is deception, a skill that is valuable.

Dragons admire the skill of deception, at the same time they know that dragons can use it for their own benefit instead of for the good of their territory or planet. Like most skills and talents, it can be used for good or evil. Not that different from blasting power, deception is a tool, a weapon, and a gift in the right hands.
