Cows in the Barn
We often watch the cows for entertainment, but yesterday they actually pulled a caper. Either the wind or a thoughtless hand left the sliding door of the barn open a crack and unsecured. An industrious cow, sometime in the day, gave the rolling door a nudge or two and half the herd spied a way into the hay barn. This gave them not only what must have looked like a endless supply of fragrant hay to munch on, but shelter from that cold rain and wind. Dogs barked at them, they didn’t care. People yelled to “Get Out!” They just kept munching. Driving the tractor towards them, they barely looked up. The bull whip cracking over their heads, now that they listened to. Out ran a bevy of bovines still chewing.
