Cooking
If you have read my books, any or them, you might have noticed that I enjoy cooking. I can cook completely by scratch, or I can take all manner of shortcuts. Tonight I made chicken paprika, a family favorite using saurkraut, chicken, mushrooms, peppers, and a cream sauce. It is amazing, and I have played with the family recipe to make it my own. While it is not everyone’s favorite, it is a special favorite of mine. Tonight I managed to make it in just 1 hour.
I love cooking food that people enjoy eating. I was raised by fat people and our love language is food, so you know we take pains to do it well. I am not saying skinny chefs are bad, but fat people, raised by fat people grow up in a special culture. You feel bad, have a piece of pie. You did well, have a cookie. It was a hard day, you deserve ice cream with whipped cream. You did a hard thing, why not make some fresh chocolate chunk cookies and make ice cream sandwiches out of them? Skinny people take a taste, fat people eat the whole thing, otherwise those starving kids in some magical place will cry. You must eat it all, every time or contribute to the mass suffering of others. Skinny people have no starving people riding on their backs.
I want to know how those skinny people got rid of the starving ones. If only I could give them the food, I could be skinny. Well, we are how we are, and that’s okay too. Instead I make pies, cookies, cakes and custard and share with people. I suppose that is not a character flaw.
Now that I have eaten a great meal with strawberry shortcake for dessert, I am ready to read. So do the same, read to a Happy place.
