Not all dragons are territory dragons, but of those who are, some mature to actually claim a territory. Once they do, that territory is basically their kingdom. If other dragons are interested they can go and live in that kingdom or choose some other kingdom to live in.

During Heron’s Bonds the group begins the debate over what to call the new emerging family, but no decision is made. At least not until Jenny erupts and yells that they are Dragonmen and Heron and Trissy agree. Did you catch that the child ended up naming the new emerging family?
