Bookstores
Like most writers I love books, I read books, lots of books, all kinds of books. To be clear I buy books. Old books, used books, new books, I get books in lots of places. Today I stopped by a half price book store. Yes some of the books are new, some are used, some have been previously sniffed.
I was standing by the registers, my dad was actually paying for books and I spotted a small volume, The Future of Farting. Yes, you read that right. I added it to the pile. The bookseller stopped with his hand on the book and smiled, walked over to where I found it and showed me they also had The History of Farting. Books are amazing, because as a writer there is no edge to my imagination and without cracking the spine, my head was swimming with ideas.
Naturally I thanked the young man and told him I was more interested in the future than the passed. He might have missed the pun, but my father didn’t. You have to love book stores, no place on earth like them.
