Black Friday Stories
The news is filled with tragic stories of Black Friday, as people fight to get the best deals and push and shove through massive crowds, but I have a really different view.
I love finding the best deals, plotting our approach, waiting in companionable lines, sharing our quests with other modern searchers all on their own missions. There is never too much rudeness, or too much complaining as someone makes way for a scooter, or a pregnant woman with an overloaded cart. There are the usual complaints about early shoppers, cheaters who take 10 of something, people who stash things instead of carting them around the store like the rest of us.
The parts that nobody sees are the greetings of friends, family members banding together for a common goal, helping strangers load a heavy box, and even stepping aside and letting someone get ahead. Of course the parking is crazy, the noise is deafening as thousands of people all talk at once, but it is generally a happy festive crowd, filled with turkey and good cheer, looking to make their lives or their holidays a little brighter.
😀😀😀 Now for just a minute imagine what a Black Friday sale would be like if Grabon, Brom, Griss, Thane, and Rok were looking for the perfect pot and pan set for Hanna.
