Birthdays

I toyed with the idea of having birthday celebrations on NewEarth and decided instead to have other types of celebrations and a different way of marking the calendar. It is obviously seasonally divided, but since the year is longer and days are longer they keep track differently. One of the scenes that I cut from Gordon’s Pride was about marking time during the day with a stick and using it as a sun dial. It is a convenient if not precise way of marking time.
