I had a wonderful opportunity during the month of November to be part of a fifth grade groups adventure in writing their first novels. They did a spectacular job and oozed enthusiasm. What a great group of students in Kodiak, Alaska. The world is a better place for having such wonderful creative people as part of it.

Having taught high school for so many years, I have a unique perspective on human nature and behavior, because teens often do not have the civilized veneer of most adults and they say what they think. That being said, the drive to conform, to be the same is hard wired into our instincts. Even when teens choose to rebel they choose nonconformity in socially acceptable ways, at least among peer…

My list today is shorter, but no less important. Modern medicine is a winner on my list from antihistamines to antibiotics, heart transplants and cures for cancer. I am a fan of medicine, healing and research.
