Getting Back

As people are getting back to their routines, dragging out the next holiday decorations and prepping the house for winter’s storms, I am still fighting off this blasted virus. I am so tired of feeling cruddy, it is not even funny. Yes, yes, that was a rhyme, I couldn’t help myself. This time of year brings out my Suessy side.

So I lost some paid days, today and tomorrow, had to sit at home, just because the wheeze in my chest was loud and distracting. I am hoping when I see the doctor tomorrow they have a new inhaler that can clear some of that up. It makes doing anything a bit of a challenge.

In any case, I spent some time with my fictional friends, catching up and visiting. It is always good to check in and see what take they have on our world and what new ideas are blooming for their own. Can you imagine how our government would change if dragons were the gate keepers for the constitution? How would they debate the meaning and impact of “justice for all?” I don’t think our current congress would like my dragons at all.

At the same time, dragon justice here would never work. Dropping the problems among the rocks is much too violent for our current society. Now 500 years ago that would be different. Human tolerance for violence changes; often by demographic, situational, and even societal standard. Humans have always been flexible.
