Yes Doctor

Due to a series of unrelated and odd circumstances, my regular Doctor is no longer with us. Yes, he died, but no, I have no idea from what. In any case, it made going to see the doctor odd and unclear who I should see. For awhile, due to employment issues, I had different insurance, so a different Doctor, but now I am back to the other insurance, and sick. So… I finally bit the frog on the butt, or swallowed a bullet or whatever and called for an appointment.

I was pretty sure it was bacterial, but the doctor was thinking it was viral. His reasoning was no fever, lots of symptoms, sinus infection, bronchitis, but viral. I don’t know if it’s my age, but I hear viral and think damn, I have to wait this out. He of course had a different idea. It wasn’t covid, I tested for that before I left the house today, also before I left the house yesterday. No, he prescribed a steroid to help me breathe. Oh boy, does this work well.

I took the first pill, and in 2 short hours that sharp pain my chest from sneezing, coughing, and breathing had reduced enough that I was looking for it. Oh boy, this is a lot better than drinking hot tea and waiting for it to pass. Not that I bypassed the mucinex, my inhaler, or other cold medicine for symptoms, but wow, that really worked. Next time maybe I won’t wait so long.

Oh, and while I was there, visiting the doc on call, I made an appointment with a new primary care provider. See – I did do the smart thing, as long as I was there. Of course, I was wondering what asthma would look like in a dragon and then I remembered, oh yeah, the mate to the big red dragon Griss, his mate has a breathing problem. But that’s a story for another day.

Have a good week of giving thanks and a delightful day of feasting. Read yourself to a happy place. 😁
