Election Day Win
My real life job is a school teacher, so on election days, school is closed. In a world where schools worry about shooters and violence you can’t have polls happening while students and teachers are present. That being said, I have the day off.
What that means is I win. I could have waited to vote, but I didn’t, knowing the lines could be long, I made time after work one day last week. I still waited on line, but it was shorter. So I have the day to do other things.
I am a list maker, and the list has gotten long anticipating this day off in the middle of the week. It included fixing the grandfather’s clock, sorting a room, shopping for a faucet, moving some furniture, making some calls… well you get the idea. Instead of embracing the list, ticking off items and making time for fun, I woke at the usual time, read, did a bit of this and that, knocked a few things off the list before I decided to blog. Now I am in my comfy chair writing, completely derailed and enjoying it. Maybe I’ll pick out a book.
So the first Election Day win is mine, having a day off, a chance to write and play with words, and I’ll get that list done… soon. So no matter where you are, or what you believe, find your win for the day, and read your way to a happy place. 💚
