Vaccine, Virus, Ear Worms

Like a lot of people I have been doing my best to stay healthy, including getting the vaccine and booster, wearing a mask, and washing my hands. I work in the public, talk to people every day and some of them seriously crack me up. They don’t believe in the virus… Do they believe in snow? Eventually they get sick, and then spread their germs around because… you guessed it, they don’t believe in masks. Businesses demand workers return to work after being out for three days for Covid. After all they aren’t that sick. The world has gone bonkers!

I do not expect people to know it all, but seriously, can we please try for some basic common sense? Oh look, the number of infections is going up, the number of tests is going down, hospitalization numbers are going up… Is this thing over yet? People are tired of the pandemic already and want to change the channel. I understand, but time does not move backwards. Can we focus on survival? Most people are not so tired they would rather be dead, they just have lost sight of the goal.

My crazy writer brain thinks we need a jingle, an ear worm that infects the nation: here is my ditty, feel free to send me your originals.

Be a good American, show you love your kids and grands, wear a mask, wash your hands, and protect yourself and those you love the most. Take the shot to be on top and help us all survive, we are all in it together to be one nation and alive!
