Refuge

Moving was hard when we left Alaska, leaving all our friends even as we moved closer to family. Making new friends has been hard because we are so busy all the time, but we have made a few inroads. Mostly situational friends, which are wonderful, but not like the friends we left behind.

But as the whole world was shutting down, LeeAnn, a close friend I team taught with In Alaska, contacted me from Albania, where she has been teaching and adventuring. She was looking for safe harbor here in the states and I jumped at the chance to see her.

She is out of quarantine, healthy, working remotely, and I am thrilled to have her here, enriching our lives as we ride out this disaster. Thanks for being my basement dweller, living life in the library of an author. 😷🤣
