Measure a Good Day
Most of my adult life I was a teacher. A good day was when kids learned. I also favored the ones when I did not have to call cops, social workers, psychiatrists, or Doctors to help keep my students alive. That being said, I am no longer teaching, but instead I am working in sales. A good day is when I make progress towards my goals. A great day is when I make more money doing it.
Grabon considers it a good day when he convinces other dragons that he is right, and a great day is when he wins an argument with Heron; but any day spent with Pia and his youngsters is made better. For Heron a good day is when he can relax among family and friends, and a great day is besting his companion, Grabon, in a contest, any contest.
For Hanna, a good day is one where nobody is angry or vexed with her, better still if they are happy; and a great day is when Gordon lets her feel a measure of his pride in her accomplishments. For Gordon Every day is good when Hanna is content and making his mouth water with her delightful cooking. It only gets better when his land is prosperous and his children are also content and growing.
What makes a good day, or a great day for you?
