Narrators and Readers

One of my future goals is to get a voice actor to read the books and record them so they can be sold through Amazon Audible. And as we begin figuring out how to choose a voice actor, a number of questions arise. Should it be a male or female? Accented speech or none? Fast paced reading or slower?

A female voice will do well to give voice to the planet, a male voice will give added strength to many of the male characters. Let me know your thoughts, as we begin this journey. A friend mentioned that when reading a female author she would expect a female reader. If others feel that way, it will be helpful to know.
