April Snow Showers
Our plan for the day was to watch my very talented niece sing and dance her way across a stage. Instead we coped with 8+ inches of heavy, wet, sticky snow. Driving was impossible, as too many people found out. Fortunately we were able to hunker down and stay put.
My parents ventured forth in an attempt to go to see my niece, but turned around and successfully made it back home. After spending several hours unpacking and sorting books, Shawn and I cleared the drive.
The temp tomorrow is supposed to hit 50 degrees, but we had to put out garbage and recycling for pickup early in the morning. We also need to be able to get out in case we are needed. That being said, Shawn and his trusty scooter really made a difference. This snowfall was so heavy my snowblower couldn’t handle it at all. It spit, choked and the blades got stuck.
At the end of the day, we are all safe and sound so it is all good.
We got only 4 or 5 inches, but had our maintenance people to do the heavy lifting. We stayed in on snow day and, by the next day, nearly all was melted. Whew!
