Mox and Brom

I got a packet from Jo, my editor, corrections and suggestions and all manner of work I can do, so I spent the day on NewEarth, among the characters, immersed in plot and drama.

When you have had a chance to spend some time with Mox, I hope readers will tell me what they think of her. She is a character I think will touch people’s hearts and set their imaginations aflame.

Brom is a character most readers already know. He is solid, a good friend to everyone, a devoted and loving father to Starseth and caught between the traditions he has always known and Grabon and Heron’s new and improved world. Originally he was going to maintain a traditional nest. He was going to make sure Starseth had a traditional start.

That did not last long, but like many people I know, he had trouble giving up the tradition in favor of progress, but he holds no resentment for the others who embrace it, it just takes him a little longer. However his loyalty is firmly and irrevocably with Grabon and Heron, because after all, they gave him his daughter to raise in his own nest. Nothing is as important as that as far as Brom is concerned.

In book 7 we hear a bit more about the planet and her vast power and wisdom. She saves someone and leads them to rescue, or so he swears.

In any case, it is coming together. I’ll let you know as we get close to a release date.
