Security
Have you ever been to a clothing store and admired all the different security devices they use to keep someone from ripping off their clothes? Today I went shopping with my mom, dad, and husband, but this has happened before. A security device was accidentally left on an article of clothing.
What made it funnier is that I told the woman at the counter that I did not want her to forget one. It had happened before and nearly given me apoplexy taking it back, worried I would be accused of stealing something.
She laughed and continued checking us out, telling us about some of the die pack they use on certain brands of clothes. Then as we started to leave, the alarm at the door sounded. I took our bags to the service desk and they decided not must be a sewn in security tag.
I wanted to believe them and we left, as I imagined searching inside all the seems of all the clothes looking for the tag that I was supposed to remove so future alarms did not go off.
In any case, after finishing our trip, unloading at my parents and sorting everything, we found the culprit. It was no small thing either but none of those huge chunky plastic things with a full seal. We went back to the store, receipt clutched in my hand for proof of purchase. Fortunately the woman behind the counter recognized me. When I showed her the contraption fastened to my clothing, she nodded and apologized as she took it off.
Now I need to make sure everything fits, but I think I’ll take care of that in the morning! I was so relieved that they were nice at the store. Obviously they made a mistake, and we’re willing to make it right and apologize. I can appreciate that.
