Cards

I always thought it was polite to send out holiday cards to those you want to stay in touch with. But with modern technology, I have many ways to stay in touch and send out all manner of information on both our public and private pages using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and email. I have a webpage for goodness sake, but when I get a wonderful card in the mail, it seems special. I have friends who hand make cards, others are done by artists. My mother gave me one done by the Jane Goodall people, art by chimps, it is fantastic! Some of my friends draw, others paint, some include photographs that should be framed.

I bought cards, nothing exciting… but cards, and I gave them with hand made food to people I wanted to thank, but as my doorway is filling up with incredible bits of art, I wonder if I should do something more.

Naturally it would need to be different, not the usual, and it would NOT include me painting or drawing anything. Visual arts are not among my talents. But I am more than capable of scribbling something meaningful and posting it on my website.

After giving it some thought and chewing it over I decided on the verse below. If it warms your heart, that makes me happy and if you merely nod and move on, that’s all right also. I don’t expect anyone will print it off and put it on the wall.🙂

2019 promises to be a doozy. The weather is changing, our world often seems devided, and troubles can pile up quickly in our modern age. With all that in mind, remember these core things and you’ll be fine.

1. Health is important, take care of yourself and the people you love. Things can be replaced, people cannot.

2. Everyone is important.

3. All of us need to live, work, and play together. Our world is shrinking with technology advancements and enemies require space and ignorance.

4. Life is precious: yours, mine, and the other guy.

So in short, heal and have a wonderful New Year filled with health, importance, life, work and play. Remember to preserve and savor the lives of everyone around you and smile, because no matter what, life is precious.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎊🥳

    Wonderful wishes!
BTW, I have switched over to sending only e-cards now. Party postage, partly effort. I hope no one will be offended.
