Hipita (Book 6)
Hipita was born with limited sight, she copes very well in a sighted world and she tends to reject pity. At the same time, you can understand why she did not want to meet a potential mate and have him reject her when he realized her vision is not the same as everyone else’s. Does that make her defensive or wise?
She was certainly thrilled to realize she was being given a task, a way to be a full member of the clan. In book 7 her role in the clan continues to expan. You’ll have to tell me what you think of Hipita when you get to know her even better.
As a soother and artist she has some concerns about the quality of her skill. She’s never mistrusts the planet, just her own level of learning and application. One of the things I like best about her, is she does not waste her time complaining. Not even when Dima’s healers are exposed and Dina offers compensation. Hipita is not vengeful and she is content to look ahead and not backwards. That takes a great deal of character strength.
In Athena’s pics of Hipita she has some impressive colors and markings, light and pastel shades, a sharp contrast to Lars and his Shadow clan coloring. Her disposition is different as well, yet they are both survivors, talented, and strong. Can you see Hipita telling off members of the council for mistreating Lars? She leaves it to Grabon and Heron, but if pushed, I bet she could step on those feet.
