The Hunter
Book 7 is with Jo, my editor, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that not many changes will need to be made; but that is similar to betting on the weather. It is impossible for me as the writer to guess or know what she will find when she picks through. So far I have been pretty lucky, but one of these days she is going to find some whomping huge mistake that I should have seen years ago when I first built the story. However, I am sure even then I will find a way to make it all work out in the end.
As for seven, The Hunter, or Brom’s mate, ( it has been called all of that) I am pretty excited to bring it out. If you haven’t met Brom in my previous books, allow me to give you a little background.
Brom is a gray and white dragon; male, large, a fighter and a single father. He makes wonderful skins from the hides of any animal. According to many others he makes the softest, best skins around. Brom is a bit more traditional in his thinking than some of the dragons of the Combined Territories, but he is a loyal and true friend to all of them.
Brom is no youngster, he is not starry eyed and yearning for his perfect mate, he is instead resigned to probably never finding her, if she is still alive. He spent many, many cycles awandering hunting a mate, trouble, and friendship. That was how he met Grabon, Griss, Rok, Thane and Pit.
Given the opportunity to gain custody of his youngster, Starseth, he planted his talons in the Combined Territories knowing he was giving up the search for his mate. While he admitted she could wander into their territory, he never believed it. Instead he was all about building the best life he could for himself and his youngster, contributing to the territory that owned his loyalty in every way he could.
