Dragons are not really dragons

Yes I know that my dragons are different. First they are mammals, with hair and give live birth. They are psychic, but their power comes from the planet. They do not breathe fire, they do not hoard gold. Some are intellectuals, others are not, but they all possess a keen intelligence. Remember that dragons live between 200-250 cycles. A lot of learning can happen in that time. A mature dragon is about 50 and has spent the time from 15 cycles to 50 exploring the world and learning who they are, their purpose on the planet and to dragon society and defining in their own minds what their talents and skills are. Self knowledge is very important to dragons.
