Jethro

Animals are sensitive, I think most people know that. They can get their feelings hurt, experience anxiety over separation and have other issues. My mighty and brave Jethro has a few personality quirks that goes beyond the average.

Hysterical blindness! Now before you laugh, know that this is pretty serious stuff, but it has a funny side as well. It occures rarely, only when something really shakes him up, like a move followed by falling down the stairs. Another occasion was a major thunderstorm, that knocked out power and shook the house for hours, leaving him a trembling mess. Hysterical blindness leaves him stumbling, walking into walls and disoriented. It triggers the instinct to keep moving and seek a dark hiding place. He can become snappish and even after he recovers 4-6 hours later, it leaves him vulnerable to another attack. He finds the whole thing so traumatic that he ends up with digestive issues forcing him to go outside much more frequently where strange sounds simply prolong recovery.
