Best part of being a writer

All over the internet there are people who think the best part of being a writer is going to work in comfy clothes and working in an isolated cave. Not me, the best part of being a writer, so far, is being able to spend time with family and friends. I can travel to see my parents, I can spend some time communicating with my nephews, and niece. I can make time to watch a movie with my husband and I can work when I need to. Most people would think that means I put in less than eight hours, but it is not true. I haven’t counted, but I would guess my normal workday is 12 to 15 hours. After being a teacher for so many years, that doesn’t seem too long.
